Review of Return to Sender (2015) by Brendan W — 06 Feb 2016

I didn't enjoy this film. It's never convincing that she would want to flirt with her rapist who also violently beat her, or that he would believe that's genuine from her so why write in an hour of them flirting together? Cringeworthy nonsense, and an exercise in disillusioning the audience. also the male actor playing the rapist mumbled through the whole film so couldn't hear most of what he's saying and seemed a rather pitiful character who she would beat to a pulp for most the film apart from during the brutal horrible rape scene, neither character showed any consistency about them and most their actions were clearly written into the story to try and throw the viewer off the rather predictable plot, rather then any believable traits or behaviour developed based on their experiences or trauma.

Could never say anything bad about the legend Nick nolte though. Well done Nick.
