Review of Return to Oz (1985) by Andrea B — 31 May 2009

Awesome movie! Tripped out a bit when I first saw as a kid; in retrospect it's awesome to see other great characters from the Land of Oz on the screen (OZMA, TICK-TOCK & JACK)! On a sidenote, Ozma was supposed to have black hair... not blond (and if I'm going to be picky.. Dorothy was supposed to have been blond.. with short hair- hence probably why they wanted Shirley Temple to play Dorothy, before it eventually went to Judy Garland).

Also, does anyone see a resemblance between Jack, and Jack from The Nightmare Before Christmas (opening scene when Jack's introduced and burns up and falls into the fountain to come out as a skeleton?) Also, Burton's Sleepy Hollow too where he has scarecrow in the fields (towards the beginning) that also looks like Jack from Return to Oz; think they're pretty cool coincidences! Anywho, WATCH IT!
