Review of Return to Oz (1985) by Ross B — 04 Mar 2013
Don't expect any resemblance to the 1939 Original. It's creepy, gritty and fantastical. I like it however, and readily recommend it to fans of OZ. It's a continuation, an original sequel that couldn't be paired with the Original, but compliments the whole Oz experience.
The film has some especially unique visual effects and insane, twisted characters that draw you in. Rating it a 3 because it doesn't have quite the same replay value as a true classic may, but it's definitely a B+ feature for memorability.
