Review of Return to House on Haunted Hill (2007) by Phil N — 30 Oct 2007
Just what the world needs, another unnecessary sequel to a remake that wasn't particularly special in the first place. A reasonable set up sees the sister of one of the survivors from the first installment back at the haunted house stuck between an archaelogist (Blakes 7's Steven Pacey no less!!) and a group of meatheaded mercenaries, all searching for an evil idol.
The rest of the film is perfunctary stuff, a carbon copy of the first with mild gore and titillation all wrapped up within a wafer thin 70 mins before the credits roll. For once a longer cut - offering some characterisation - would have been welcome.
