Review of Return to House on Haunted Hill (2007) by Chucho E. Q — 16 Jul 2009
Victor Garcia's follow-up to the admittedly average 'House on Haunted Hill' (1999), is possibly a bit better than its predecessor and has be considered unfortunate to have been deemed unworthy of a cinema release in the UK.
The sister of Sara, one of the original 'guests' at the house, Ariel is receiving messages from her sister from beyond the grave. With the help of a fellow student and their professor, Ariel goes to the house to put the curse to rest.
Their progress is hindered by the unwelcome arrival a former student hellbent on acquiring a piece of treasure which also holds he key to ending the house's reign of terror. Very watchable, acceptably predictable in places but decent.
