Review of Return of the Secaucus Seven (1980) by Chucho F — 27 Sep 2010
John Sayles wrote this and I'm sure it sounded great in his mind as he did so...so why isn't it on the screen? At first, for like the first thirty mins or so, I thought it was a complete dull. The actors were dull and so not interesting.
The first scene wasn't interesting. A guy unclogging a toilet AND NOT BEING FUNNY! Seriously? I mean, these people are such complainers of something that is not even worth complaining about. They have everything.
They have friendship, they have each other! Anyway, it got slightly better later on but some scenes like the argument in the bar sorta ruined everything. It was badly timed and acted AND the writing was sorta loose there when all throughout was doing fine.
I kinda don't know what to make of this movie except the character of Ron, the mechanic, he was cool and extremely attractive, meaning he was interesting. But he was barely in it, cut off right when we were barely getting to know him.
Overall it was ok.
