Review of Return of the Living Dead Part II (1988) by Jono P — 24 Oct 2007
Pretty bad kiddified remake of the first. As such I loved it as a child and truth be told the soundtrack was probably the first time I ever heard thrash metal (Anthax's Horror of it all) which makes a nice updating of the original's punk soundtrack.
The effects are better than the first on the zombies, but less gory, and the overall look of the film is good. The new score on the dvd is unbearable, the old one was quirky and interesting. The whole movie is very cartoony and should not be attempted by anyone over 14, unless accompanied by genuine nostalgia.
