Review of Return of the Living Dead Part II (1988) by Scott A — 23 Aug 2013
Nothing as good as the first one, and I think it's mostly cause they tried to basically make a rehash instead of an actual sequel.
I have seen it a few times and bringing back Karen and Matthews to basically do the same thing as they did in part 1, only as different characters, seems beyond redundant. You know how it will end for them, so what's the point.
Michael Kenworthy and Marsha Dietlein are solid here as the brother-sister leads. Dietlein is cute and has a voice that is a dead ringer for Kerri Green!
I love Suzanne Snyder and here she is a smoking hot red head, yum, but man do they make her annoying. Her last few minutes in the movie are pretty intolerable!
The zombie effects are pretty good, but the ending leaves something to be desired.
It's okay for a rainy day, but nothing as great as the first one.
