Review of Return of the Living Dead: Necropolis (2005) by Josh P — 10 Dec 2006
Well, I was expecting complete trash from this and it didn't end up being too painful. Still, I think I have seen way too many zombie film and this one ended up reminding me of the abysmal "Day of the Dead: Contagion" had it been somewhat entertaining.
There were some good gore sequences and some underused super-zombies that were a cross between Robocop and the killer from "Haute Tension". Director Ellory Elkayem can pace a movie well so it doesn't get boring, I just wish he had a better script to work with.
It bugs me when an old series is resurrected like this because a cheap, knock-off sequel ends up tainting the series as a whole. At least the zombies were done with make-up.
