Perfect ending that brings a satisfying conclusion to the original series. The entire cast continues their superb work in progressing their characters, with Hamill showing Luke Skywalker to be a full-blown Jedi while Ford evolves Han Solo into a complete hero, though still retaining some of his scoundrel ways (his shrug after pulling off a classic trick is one of his best moments).

The new addition in Ian McDiarmid as the Emperor is superb, portraying just pure, corrupted evil you instantly fear & understand why even Darth Vader follows his orders. Behind the camera, George Lucas & director Richard Marquand wrap things up nicely, with brilliant action scenes (the spaceship battle over the second Death Star is as good as it gets) along with gorgeous special effects.

Even the infamous Ewoks, while still annoying, aren't nearly as bad after repeated viewings (and comparison to Jar Jar Binks) and the tension is ramped to a fever pitch at the end. Of course, John Williams score is some of the best music you'll ever listen.

Overall, a perfect ending to the best trilogy in movies ever.
