Review of Resurrecting the Champ (2007) by Gavin H — 29 Feb 2008
A struggling journalist thinks he has a story when he meets a homeless man who claims to be a former boxing champion.
Critics have called this ordinary and plodding but that's what I liked about it the most. It's not until near the end where it goes on too long and doesn't quite know when to finish. It's engaging and keeps you guessing and the performances are really good, especially Jackson. These days he plays himself most of the time, but here he creates this complex character and you forget it's him almost immediately.
