Review of Restrepo (2010) by Tony B — 11 Jan 2011

The thing that stands out for me most in this documentary is the disrespectful way the commanding officers interact with the Afghan elders/citizens which I believe has always been a problem with US soldiers in most of their modern conflicts.

The documentary itself is a simple fly on the wall type with no narration and short and sparse post tour interviews in between the action. You just feel like you're behind the camera watching the real tears, real laughs, real lives of those who are fighting and I guess it's a must see for those interested in the conflict in Afghanistan.
