This powerfu l documentary focuses on a year in the life of a platoon of soldiers embeded in a deadly valley in Afghanistan.

The film concentrates on the day to day routine of the soldiers as they dig in in a compound named after a fallen comrade .

What follows is gripping and gives you a real idea of the dangers faced by the average soldier in the field.

The men themselves let off steam by playfighting and playing music but when the business of war kicks in they are all primed and ready for action.

The combat sequences give you a real feel for how scary it must be to have people trying tio kill you while you carry out your job.

Add to this the frustration in dealing with the tribal elders who may or may not be hiding the taliban and their concerns over the death of their animals .

The filmakers never try to polish things and show you all they reasonably can .

Powerful stuff then and well worth 90 mins of anyones time.
