Review of Restrepo (2010) by William H — 21 Mar 2011
Turning a bad situation into tolerable is hard to do, but the boys in Afghanistan really did their best to pass the days by. Confronted with orders to keep the Out Post Restrepo defended, these young men are forced to stay a place where they're shot at daily from Taliban rebels.
The documentary makes you ask, why were we there? The troops don't know, the captain says it's to build a road for some of the citizens, but even they don't cooperate with the Americans. The few moments where they horse around and sing and play video games are priceless.
