Review of Rest Stop (2006) by Amy F — 01 Apr 2007
If you haven't seen this movie then don't read the review, it CONTAINS SPOILERS. Throughout this whole movie I was Like "What are you doing that for?!" When she broke into the rangers office and started drinking she decided to watch T.
V. What! Her boyfriend was missing and a crazy man was after her. Oh well, might as well watch some T.V while I wait for help. She wasn't even crying. Also She seemed to run back to the toilet block all the time, where the killer would easily find her.
Why didn't she follow the road to the next stop and hide in the bushes when she saw or heard a vehicle coming? And, how convenient that the cop only mentions he has a gun after they watch the psycho hook the chain up to the motorbike and after he returns to torment them again.
Whats more annoying is she wastes four bullets trying to shoot the psycho, who is on the otherside of a closed door, where I'm sure after hearing the gun go off wouldn't be standing around waiting.
Then with two bullets left the cop wants her to use them on him, not one because she'll miss, but two. Of course if she had hidden out in the rest area with a fully loaded gun, waiting for him to return, she could have shot him point blank, with 6 chances to make a hit.
Even if he didn't die she could have injured him, giving her enough time to get in his truck and drive away. But that would be to easy and then the movie would have ended. One more thing I have to add, is she finds a crow bar, wouldn't that not be a great weapon to use in self defense? Gosh no, she leaves it in the toilet block and only uses it to try and open the door where the crying girl is and to open the skylight.
When she finally does decide to use it as a weapon, its like the psychopath is expecting it.
