Review of Rest Stop (2006) by Mirza H — 21 Jul 2009
I am ashamed to admit that this move scared me. Quite a lot. I'm aware that it's an awful film, it's no good at all... it started out well, with a lot of potential for a great ending, and then they decided to finish it off the easy way: it is all the work of supernatural forces.
I'm so sick of those cliche endings, they could've done something so much better. I saw the alternative endings, and they were all bad, they could've done one great ending instead of five lousy ones! It would've implied less effort if they had just tried to think for a while for a good ending.
They could've used that family of freaks in the van, we never ever learn what the hell they have to do with anything in the movie! They could've connected that sinister midget with the flash coming from the van where the killer took the pictures.
And the performances were not good at all. The only reason why I am giving it one star is because it did manage to scare me and because it was cool to keep the killer's face in the shadows throughout the movie, leaves more to the imagination and becames more scary.
Still, awful movie, very bad film.
