Review of Resolved (2007) by Nate R — 21 Jun 2008
A fascinating look at real life high school debate teams and how the nature of debating itself has changed in the US. what was once an activity based on arguing the pros and cons of an issue, has become a competition based on who can argue using the best techniques.
what starts out as a film merely documenting the lives of high school debaters takes an interesting turn and delves into the notion of inherent racism not only in the debating realm, but in the educational system and other institutions which are labeled under the pretext of serving the greater good.
an interesting and thought provoking film!
