Review of Residue (2017) by Avin O — 24 Oct 2017
Most movies that I find to be great are usually a little odd...I appreciate the artistic vision of the director, cast, and crew. Individual performances can really make or break any film or show. I don't typically feel like I don't understand movies, in fact it's quite the opposite... I am usually the one that gets it. This movie was an all out terrible, but it was sort of boring and some of the performances were somewhat bad. And there was never any clarification as to what The hell was going on the entire time. Some movies do that well and I may like them. I just didn't find this one compelling in any way. This one just left too many holes in the plot and didn't explain the actions of the characters or the events in the movie. It wasn't just one of those things where it's an artist wanting you to interpret it your own way. It wasn't like the briefcase in Pulp Fiction or the end of the Sopranos series. It was just not well executed on many levels.
On a positive note, it did have good practical special effects make up and creepy characters...when they were on screen.
