These negative reviews are either closeted racists or poser fans who think they know the old school RE. From one who is a diehard fan of RE, (not just one who played 4 first and then played 1-3) this movie never was intended to be a masterpiece, the casting is fine, the actors do a pretty good job, the fx are decent, and the storyline works.

Give the movie a shot and ignore those who hated the movie before they even saw it.
