Review of Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (2016) by Joseph T — 02 Feb 2017
Funny how it ended with an obvious poke at a possible sequel. Alice's last line of dialogue speaks to that. Other than that, it was far too poorly edited to be as entertaining as it should have been.
The action scenes suffered from mindless cuts and angles, making it impossible for the viewer to "feel" what the characters were feeling. Most cuts couldn't have been more than 5-10 frames long, and were made up of camera angles that were not related to one another except for the subject the camera was pointed at.
Hence, taking me OUT of the movie at moments when I should have been more engaged. The director could learn a lot from Akira Kurosawa for camera direction. I hope they do come out with a continuation of Alice's adventures.
There's a lot more story that could be told.
