Review of Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (2016) by Erik Z — 02 Feb 2017
Great Flik. Ends well. A little gray area room left to hope for a 7th w Milla & Ali! It could have used a better balance of day vs. night/dark action scenes. Seemed 80% was all in dark scenes. Thus, lots of blood and detail that we get in UHD now, was missed.
BUT didn't give it 4 stars mainly cause there a few holes in the timeline. The two most noticeable ones were (a) The Dr. Ashford, creator of the T Virus, was not killed when it all started, per this flik's timeline.
He in fact survives the incident and stars in the Apocalypse (part 2, character in wheelchair), as Dr. Ashford aids the cast out of Raccoon City so they can save his daughter, Angela. Then (b) this movie shows Charlie re-uniting with Alice since Charlie's chopper departure to Arcadia in Extinction (part 3), when in fact they re-unite in Afterlife (part 4) with Charlie suffering temp memory loss.
Still, as a Fan of Milla & Ali, Loved seeing them Kick Ass once again!!! Great performances by all the actors! Acting was good/believable as I once again found myself invested in all the characters, respectively!! Loved It!!! Wish I could be married to Ali and/or Milla! :-).
