Review of Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (2016) by Greg B — 23 Mar 2017
Absolutely the worst of the Resident Evil Movies. They didn't even try to make a good movie. I've never seen so much fast editing in my life. Anderson doesn't bother to keep a shot for longer than a quick second before he moves on to another shot.
Note: Quick shots do not make the action that much more exciting! It actually makes it more boring! The dialogue is nothing more than 1-3 word sentences. It's really bad. There's nothing witty or clever about the writing in this movie at all.
This is the movie that will make you regret sticking out the franchise until the end.(SPOILER ALERT!!!) The worst crime, and the biggest example of how lazy the writing is, is that Wesker's end is just the ending to the original RoboCop! Where in the original Robocop he's not allowed to harm an employee of OCP so the head of OCP fires the vice president and then Robocop kills him.
Same thing here. The Red Queen can not harm an employee of Umbrella, then the major share owner of Umbrella fires Wesker so then the Red Queen kills him. Ugh....so freaking lazy!
