Review of Resident Evil: Retribution (2012) by Bob L — 01 Mar 2013
I thought the last effort was lame. As it was, it was just a gimmicky, over stylised, actioner with just a lack of suspense. This time Paul Anderson takes it back to its roots- not like the first film roots, but the Japanese video game it's from, and he really shouldn't have.
It contains plot holes that make no sense, set and character dressing which are just plain ludicrous (just because a video game character has a stupid cocktail dress, common sense would say it's nonsense to dress your bad ass female lead the same just to be faithful to it), and everything we've seen before- just more this time round.
At least the other efforts tried to be different from each other. Very lazy.
