NOT the last installment in the Resident Evil series (there's four of them so far), and let's face it: Milla Jovovich has really made quite a career for herself out of playing exactly the same type of feisty heroine as Alice in just about any movie she has ever been in!
I think it's safe to say that this is pretty standard fare for a Resident Evil film (though it's not as enjoyable as the first two): they're not going to win any awards, but as a means of passing time ...
