This acts more like a remake of Mad Max 2 rather than Resident Evil. There's nothing "Resident Evil" about it, it's just a Mad Max 2 clone with zombies. Even Paul Anderson admits on the "Making of" the idea for the film came from Mad Max 2. Paul, originality is the key to success. You might wanna take a few lessons from Terry Gilliam or even Walt Disney.

No Jill Valentine, since Sienna Guillory went off to do the disastrous Eragon. No Leon Kennedy, no Claire Redfield......... oh, wait a minute. There she is. Where? Ali Larter as Claire Redfield? I've nothing against her, she's a great actress but she's miscast. She looks nothing like the character in the game. They should've cast Michelle Trachtenberg as Claire Redfield. All you need to do is dye her hair red and bingo! There she is.

And the whole Alice psychic thing is just stupid and so un-Resident Evil like. When you think Resident Evil, what pops in your head? Psychics? I don't think so. The scene where Alice is sleeping and her motorbike hovers into the air is taken right out of Empire Strikes Back. You can hear audience members groaning in that scene.

The whole mission to Alaska thing, yeah this movie came out the same year as The Simpsons Movie where the family went to Alaska. Hmm......

There's some good action in this and the CGI isn't too bad. Those dreaded CG lickers aren't here. And it's nice to see Milla wear the red dress again. Fanservice!

Overall, it's okay. Worth watching if you're up for a Mad Max clone.
