Review of Resident Evil: Extinction (2007) by Ianm197 — 28 Oct 2010
Better than the previous two films in the series, Extinction turns out to be a genuinely good zombie movie. The setting is in a word, brilliant. The desert clashes with almost everything we expect from a movie of this genre, creating what feels like an original film, despite it being well-trodden ground.
The action scenes are as good as ever (the much-hyped birds sequence in particular shows how far the CG has come since the first movie) and the acting is above-par, if a little bland here and there. I'm looking forward to see what Afterlife can do with the series, and how (and where) things will pan out in the future.
