Review of Resident Evil: Degeneration (2008) by Edgar C — 16 Jun 2010
For those who read my Extinction review, you could draw the conclusion that I was hoping this Capcom release to rescue the quality of the live-action sequels, perhaps even the Paul W.S. Anderson almost-abomination, if possible.
Well, the animation has a low quality and the budget is no excuse. Capcom is a successful empire and the games, for those born in the late 80s/ early 90s, defined our adolescence. Unfortunately, and very painfully, the only thing we received from this is an unbearably extended videogame cut scene with an undeveloped story. The irony comes next: This was actually better than any live-action sequel, by literally nothing. I might be giving this one an extra point because I got to see the old videogame characters once more, but surprisingly enough, Japan didn't save the day.
46/100.
