Review of Resident Evil: Degeneration (2008) by Joseph W — 04 Mar 2012

For those that don't know I'm a huge fan of the Resident Evil games. When I first heard about this I got really excited. Those reasons are why I found this movie so disappointing. It's not as disappointing as Final Fantasy Advent Children but this movie is still a huge disappointment.

This first problem about this movie is the animation. The animation goes past the style of the games and tries to look more realistic. The only problem is that it just brings the uncanny valley. The second problem is that the whole movie feels like a cutscene.

The third and biggest problem is that the plot is really weak here. I'll be honest here and say the plot of games isn't deep but it is still an interesting and compelling plot. This movie has the sort of plot that is better of mentioned then experienced.

In regards to that there is a game version of this movie in the AppStore iOS. Though I haven't played it I imagine it's probably more interesting than this movie. The reason being because your actually playing it.

So plainly said I found this movie to be a boring disappointment. I am very sad to say it but there is no hiding it.
