Review of Resident Evil: Degeneration (2008) by Michael C — 16 Mar 2009
This direct-to-video animated film definitely had some cheesy, stupid moments, but it also had some of the classic scenes fans of Resident Evil have come to know and love. The animation isnâ??t the best, but then they didnâ??t have a Pixar or Dreamworks budget, so some credit has to be imparted for that limitation.
The film was very sluggish in its opening, taking quite some time to reach a moment that actually prompted me to be truly involved with the film, but the second half won me over just a bit with some great action and some really fun â??monster movieâ??-type sequences.
Plus, even though it was direct-to-video it was still immensely better than the three awful live-action â??Resident Evilâ?? films.
