Review of Resident Evil: Degeneration (2008) by Melvin Y — 13 Jul 2009
Remember when the Resident Evil franchise used to be dark and atmospheric with a creepy storyline? Watching this mindless action flick with its paper-thin plot will be the easiest way to make you forget.
I can't disagree with the people saying the CGI is impressive, both during the fight scenes and when showing the characters' facial expressions, but that doesn't excuse the lack of characterization, rendering these 3D characters quite two-dimensional.
It's a shame that both the movie and video games alike have abandoned their horror roots for something so mainstream and uninspired.
