Review of Resident Evil: Degeneration (2008) by Tony C — 29 Dec 2009
The movie is just a bunch of okay scenes that look like a video game set of cinematics put together. The animation will be looked at first. Great skin textures, and attention to clothes detail is used, but the movements of the characters are not at all realistic most of the time.
The story is just all mixed up and too confusing for the plot twist at the end to even work. The movie is too long and does not go anywhere. The only good part of the film is the use of Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield for one of the first times in a Resident Evil movie.
This small fact does not save the movie though. Unlike the Final Fantasy: Advent Children movie the film is not saved by having a great cast of classic characters from the video game. FF was different because it had great story and great characters.
Not even the action in the film lines up well. The film is nothing special and dull at times, and is not worthy of the great video game series.
