Review of Resident Evil: Degeneration (2008) by Benno H — 23 May 2010
It isn't that this movie is that bad of a movie, but it is kind of boring throughout the whole thing. If you want entertainment, the other movies more entertaining. What I did like (unless I am mistaken) is how they accurately incorporated this movie into the game series (which most of the movies did not, from my understanding).
I am tempted to give it 3 stars for simply the nifty action bits with Leon, but it is expected with him and nothing seemed that thrilling with this whole movie. There was no scare factor for me, nor was there any real excitement while watching.
Maybe it was my mood while watching, but I doubt that...I seriously think this movie was a little bit forced. Although I do like the story concept of a big corporation developing such a virus, as expected in the games, it is becoming a bit overdone.
I think they need to add some unique twist or something or at least start making it feel like the heroes are getting closer to stopping the main culprits, but instead it seems these games/movies are more focused on giving more mysteries (although mysteries are good, they need to add some more flavor to theirs).
Anyways, enough of my rambling...
