Review of Resident Evil: Degeneration (2008) by Eddie R — 31 Mar 2009
For the most part the CGI is noteworthy. The character animation is often superb and everyone moves around with a surprising vitality (with the possible exception of the "final boss" which moves like a Harryhausen reject). Alas, all verisimilitude ends at the neckline; each character has all the emotion of a Gerry Anderson puppet. Coupled with some typically Resident Evil-esque bad dialogue (and Barbie-style immoveable hair) and it's pretty hard to take anyone seriously.
The plot itself is standard fare - viruses, Zombies, conspiracies, juvenile attempts at pathos...I suppose in the end it's the most accurate translation of Resident Evil canon to the screen.
