Review of Resident Evil: Damnation (2012) by Adam W — 25 Sep 2012
Whilst it is definitely the most attractive CG movie I can recall in many parts, the movie does suffer from a weak opening half, where the one-liners, sub-par voice acting and plot pacing all make for an awkward experience. strangely enough, by the time we get to daylight in the film, theres a great improvement all round, and the movie ends up feeling like a satisfying pre-cursor to the upcoming game.
Highlights:
-absolutely stunning visuals, particularly in the daytime scenery.
-the plot prepares gamers for the atmosphere and enemies of the upcoming game.
Lowlights:
-the voice acting and one dimensional characters, whilst standard for the franchise, still leave a lot to be desired.
-Ada Wong's remodelled look is very average, especially when theyve made Leon's best model yet.
