Review of Resident Evil: Damnation (2012) by Arpan M — 26 Sep 2012
Leon Kennedy is all out of bubblegum!
First, I have to let it be known that Paul Mercier will always be my favourite version of Leon, no contest.
The new guy is a near match but he's not Paul.
These animated movies are complete fan service. They'll never win Oscars and they'll never receive wide releases, but dammit, do I love them! So far, both installments in this franchise have been wonderfully fun. These are the kinds of movies I wanna watch over Saturday morning breakfast. They put me in a great mood.
Spoiler alert!
Something completely out of left field was the appearance of Tyrants! Those were the absolute last breed of BOWs I expected to show up. I was very impressed.
I also loved this new angry side of Leon and the final scene that has him drinking some shots. After so many brushes with death and the burden of all he's seen and done, and of all he knows, it's extremely fitting for him to be a little bitter below the surface.
