Review of Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004) by Alan Fong D — 13 Sep 2012
The horror continues as filmmakers continue to up the scale this time with a treatment of universal expansion. Incorporating more elements from the video-game series, especially with the familiar backdrop of a besieged Raccoon City.
Still, along with the usual zombie actions and thin storyboard, the tone of the flick grew darker with more Umbrella conspiracies and revelations. To me, the second one bears much resemblance to the essence of the original video-games, making it another theme-park ride into a world ravaged by flesh-eating undead.
Ironically, it's something that should not be taken seriously.
