Review of Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010) by Reuben H — 21 Jul 2011
Will they just end this franchise now PLEASE!! What more can they bleed from this? Seriously? It just keeps getting duller all the time with the same action sequence but a different baddy each time this time the rather disappointing guy with the massive hammer/axe!! Even the Nemises put up more of a fight & he was not scary at all as he was in the video game!! Alice is still a huge enigma despite the fact she was injected with a anti virus to make her human & finally kill the T Virus within her, she still seems to possess all the skills & benefits of the T Virus! The film is tedious at best with nothing new except more discoveries of experimentation by Umbrella & finding old allies! I cant believe there will be another one & I know I'll watch it, more in hoping everything will finally end & Alice finding answers & finally peace!
The movie is also about 10/12 years out of date focusing heavily on The Matrix with bullet time & slowed down kick ass moves to floor an opponent & felt like I was watching a short clip of The Matrix Trilogy cos it's all in here. This certainly tells you they've almost bled this Franchise dry resorting to a movie made over a decade ago, imitation is the best form of flattery they say but not in this case, the last two films of The Matrix were poor at best, this felt like it's dirty little sister!
