Review of Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010) by Tanvir M — 08 Dec 2011
I don't know if I was in a particular uncharitable frame of mind when I saw it, but I found this chapter in the Resident Evil franchise the worst of the lot. Apart from some useless slow mo fashioned after 'Matrix' (which, instead of raising the tension level, felt like they were just desperately trying to reach the passable length of a movie), there is very little to hold the interest of the viewer.
I was yawning and fending off the urge to fall asleep during the movie. Good thing that no money was spent catching the 3D version of the film as I couldn't honestly imagine what the 3D would have added to the movie.
Considering that it's a zombie film, too few zombie scenes were there, the action sequences were tired and recycled derivatives of the earlier instalments or of better films. So, unless you are a rabid Milla Zovovich fan or a player of the game franchise, avoiding this film can help you save time, energy and money.
