Review of Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010) by Sean S — 09 Nov 2012
Marking the first Resident Evil entry to be 3D, Afterlife tries to make the most out of the extra dimension with bullets and blood flying at the camera, but action is again the main element on offer here.
Anderson returns to directing the franchise after only writing the previous two, but newcomers will have little to revel in. Alice discovers Arcadia is not a place but a ship, and teams up with several more survivors (who are picked off in a similar fashion to previous installments) in an L.
A. prison, where she meets Chris Redfield (Wentworth Miller), the brother of Claire. Afterlife's eclectic electronic score by tomandandy may blare at some rather odd moments, but all in all, the film doesn't stand out for its originality.
