Review of Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010) by Lordofskulls — 05 Jun 2015
Apart from the spectacle, this movie has absolutely nothing to offer. It's like a swizz cheese with all it's stupid plotholes. The dialogue is terrible and the characters are even worse. Even if it looks really crisp in 3d, it feels like it is 90 % of the budget. It's basically what would happen if there ever was a high school play with the budget of Michael Bay. The actors do what they can. Kim Coates for example is an amazingly talented actor, but the way he is written, he is a terrible cliché. The characters are so unlikeable and bland. The only person I rooted for was the basketball player, because well... I thought he seemed like a nice guy, for the total of 30 second character development he had. Wesker's delivery of the lines feel like a way to cover up for Shawn Roberts dreadful acting. I can't take someone seriously when it sounds like he speak with his jaws closed.
These movies are a soulless blight on cinema, if this next movie isn't the last, I vow to take the director out.
