Review of Resident Evil (2002) by Nathan M — 18 Sep 2012
The first installment of Millaâ(TM)s RE franchise is quite video game like in that the action is a series of tasks that need to be completed before reaching an objective. The film would have been helped if the screenwriter (same as director) had fleshed out the dialog and action a bit, perhaps inserting some fun one liners or propulsive action scenes.
This film is very thin overall and easily inferior to Underworld, which looks like Oscar material by comparison.
