Review of Reservation Road (2007) by Liam P — 16 Jan 2009
The film suffers from the fact that the material just isn't very cinematic. Solid performances from Ruffalo, Connelly and especially Fanning, make this watchable, yet somehow the murkiness of the moral dilemmas each of the characters face clouds the picture as a whole and one wonders what was the point.
George's direction isn't particularly innovative and suggests that perhaps the film could have been something different had a director with a bit of flair been in charge of adapting the source material.
In the end Reservation Road is a watchable film without being a good one.
