Hotel rwanda director is likely to disappoint those expecting a film of the same caliber. I came in not expecting much and not having seen the trailer (which I think gives too much away) and was pleasantly surprised by the film's premise which kept my interest in how things would play out.

dakota fanning's younger sister elle breaks my heart when she asks if her dead brother can hear music in heaven and plays a nice piece on the piano dedicated to him. jennifer connelly and joaquin phoenix deliver but I feel mira sorvino is underused.

I like mark ruffalo, but he may have bitten off a little bit more than he can chew here.
