Review of Rescue Dawn (2007) by James C — 30 Dec 2010
This movie will throw you off to start. The preview for it gives it to be a war-action film, but it is definetly not. It is very slow to begin....and it's very slow in the middle, so its actually quite slow.
The performances are amazing, especially Steve Zahn who I have always considered a funny man up until this movie. The thing that I really liked about this movie were the camera angles. Director Werner Herzog gets you right in the travelling, the planning and the emotion of the amazing cast.
You have to give this film a chance if you want to like it, this is not for people who juss want to relax and watch, you have to be involved and fortunately I was. Despite the very slow pace, the performances and the great ending make this a great film.
Well worth a look. Thumbs up!
