Review of Rescue Dawn (2007) by Daryl L — 08 Jun 2011
This is a good example how an excellent photography, scoring, screenplay, and story join together to make a great film. Werner Herzog's "Rescue Dawn" tells a story of a US Navy pilot assigned to throw bombs in Laos during war.
A lot of war films, local and foreign, have been made before that are set in the tropical forests, but unfortunately, they cannot get the photography right. Bad lighting? Wrong choice of lenses or filters? Incompetitive editing? I do not exactly what makes other films not that too visually appealing as compared to this one.
