Review of Requiem for a Dream (2000) by Simon M — 14 Jan 2013
An extremely depressing and disturbing film about the effects of drug dependency. Intense and dark, the characters are in a constant downward spiral and are doomed from the very beginning. This is a real downer of a movie, but it's an outstanding accomplishment and one of the most powerful films I have ever seen.
Hats off to Darren Aronofsky, 5 stars.
