Review of Requiem for a Dream (2000) by Mauricio R — 27 Feb 2013
Save for the ending, I firmly believe this is more or less what The Dark Side of the Moon would look like in cinematic form, what with the themes of sickness, delusion, pain and occasional horror.
The cinematography, although often jumpy, was mesmerizing.
The simultaneous and sometimes interweaving story lines worked well together and did not confuse me at all.
The soundtrack is among the 10 best I've heard and highlights plot points and creates suspense and emotion in all the right places, and then some.
All in all, one of the best movies I have seen.
