Review of Requiem for a Dream (2000) by Graeme E — 12 Jun 2013
This is not an easy movie to watch, and I say that in the best way possible. You witness each character become crippled by drug addiction in their own way, struggling just to make it to the next day. What makes this change even more tragic is that these aren't necessarily bad people.
Each character is likeable and has there own quirks and faults which helps to ground them in reality, and that's probably the most disturbing part of this movie. These are average people, this kind of crippling addiction could happen to any of us.
Definitely a must watch and one of my favourite movies of all time.
