Unbarring and unrewarding, "Requiem for a Dream" makes no apologies in delivering its message--the world of drugs is a hopeless, bleak place. Not to mention, this piece marked an early showcase for director Darren Aronofsky, who is truly one of the most talented filmmakers of today.
