Accompanied by winning performances by the cast, Aronofsky proves his virtu while displaying surreal, disquieting, unabashedly honest and brutally horrifying imagery, that may or may not be too much for the audiences to withstand.
At the end of the day, Requiem for a Dream remains a movie to be admired.
